Research and Development

The ANPL has well established state of the art in-house R&D facility with qualified professionals duly approved by DSIR (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research) (Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India). The R&D is focussed on the development of the technologies based on the secondary agriculture. The focus is on utilisation of the by-products or waste streams of the agroindustry’s to produce the value-added products for the human and animal nutrition.

1.Single Stage Continuous Extraction followed by On-line Miscella Refining of Cottonseed Oil

ANPL has developed and successfully implemented the single stage continuous extraction of cottonseed oil followed by online miscella refining of cottonseed oil.


2.Alternative Proteins

ANPL has developed different grades of its Plant Proteins base exclusively suitable to cater various animal feed formulations of the Poultry, Cattle and Aqua Feed Industry. The main objective was to develop the protein-based feed free from antinutritional factors with higher digestibility.


3.Cattle Feed 

ANPL has come up with the super feeds with protein-energy balance, with high rumen undegradable protein (UDP) and with higher digestibility. For more details of the cattle feed such as Abhay Protein – Shrihari, Abhay Protein – CSM, Abhay Protein – RSM.


4.Protein Concentrates and Isolates  

The ANPL has developed in-house process to produce plant protein concentrates of soybean and cottonseed free from antinutritional factors such as gossypol, polyphenols, isoflavones, galacto-oligosaccharides. The process for plant protein isolates with more than 90% protein content is also developed for soy-based proteins.


5.Milk Ecosystem

The ANPL has developed a better-quality cattle feed which increased the quantity of milk as well as improved the quality of milk with respect to fat content, protein content and SNF in the milk. The ANPL is developing value chain from cattle feed to milk processing for value added products. The ANPL’s feed will be provided to cattle farmers, the quality milk will be produced from cattle fed with ANPL’s feed. That quality milk will be used by ANPL for processing into different value-added products.


6.Other Emerging Technologies

  • Edible Oil Deodorised Distillate Processing for Tocopherol Recovery
    Deodorised distillate is a byproduct of edible oil refinery. It contains many value added products such tocopherol, phytosterols and free fatty acids. ANPL is developing alternative processes for value addition of edible oil deodorised distillates.
  • Fractionation of Crude Soya Lecithin for Production of different grades of phospholipids
    Crude soya lecithin is a byproduct of soybean oil refining process. The crude soy lecithin is a mixture of different phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidylserine and phosphatidic acid. ANPL is developing a process for fractionation of lecithin into different phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine 10%, phosphatidylcholine 35%, phosphatidylcholine 50%, phosphatidylcholine 80%.
  • Milk processing for value added products
    In line with the milk ecosystem ANPL wants to develop, we are working on alternative strategies for separation of fat from milk, fractionation of different types of milk proteins, processing for different varieties of cheese, paneer, butter and ghee
